Taleah Abolt

Race, u/s Crutchie

Taleah Abolt is 17 and just graduated from Yuba City High School. She's been doing theater since she was 8, and most recently played Centipede and Ladahlord in a production of James and the Giant Peach. In the fall, she is attending UCSD and hopes to continue being involved in theatre and dance there. She has been involved at Center Stage Productions since their first show, and can't believe it's her last show here. Taleah is so excited to be part of a show she's been a fan of for so long with such an amazing cast!

Danielle Gatlin is ecstatic to be a part of Newsies! She is going to be a senior in high school at MCAA. You might've recognized her as Gretchen in Mean Girls and Hero in Much Ado About Nothing with her school, as well as The Sour Kangaroo in Seussical with Center Stage Productions. Although she portrays a mean and menacing character in Newsies, she is quite the opposite! Danielle would like to thank her mom for all of her support. She hopes you will sit back and enjoy the show!

Brooklyn Handley

Splasher, Scab, Brooklyn Newsie

Brooklyn Handley is so excited to be a part of Newsies, one of her favorite plays! As a homeschooled 7th grader, she loves watching performances and is thrilled to be on stage herself. She previously played Rafiki in The Lion King JR. and loves singing, dancing, aerial silks, soccer, pole vaulting with her dad, and especially being with her three brothers. Brooklyn also enjoys going to her weekly church youth activities, and being with her friends! Another thing she loves is to serve others by writing cards, making bracelets, and baking treats for people.

Allie Hanson

Henry

Allie Hanson is 17 and just graduated high school this year. She has been involved in many shows, including Seussical The Musical with Center Stage. This year, she both directed and starred in her school’s production of Little Women. In the fall, Allie will be attending UC Santa Cruz for Astrophysics. She’s excited to share the love she has for Newsies with everyone and feels very lucky for the friends and experience she’s gained from working with Center Stage.

Brooke Kersting

Albert, Swing

Brooke Kersting is so excited to be a part of Newsies! She is going into 10th grade at YCHS and is part of the drama class there. She was most recently in James and the Giant Peach as an ensemble member. Brooke is also part of the Yuba City Youth Ballet and dances at Studio B Ballet. She has been in their annual Nutcracker as Marzipan the last two years. Brooke is so happy to be part of such a wonderful cast and hopes you enjoy the show!

Desiree Lapiers

Finch, Swing

Desiree Lapiers is beginning her junior year at River Valley High School. Most recently, she played Grace Farrell in Annie and The Velveteen Rabbit in The Velveteen Rabbit. Desiree has been performing most of her life and has always loved the arts in any form they come in, whether it may be musical theater or playing in an orchestra. She is very grateful to be a part of this production and would like to thank everyone who made it possible. Enjoy the show!

Addyson Maser

Tommy Boy, Scab, Brooklyn Newsie

Addyson Maser is so excited to be in this year's production of Newsies! She has been enjoying summer and is preparing to start her 7th grade year at Butte Vista School. She has a passion for theater, dance, gymnastics, and singing. When not in rehearsals she is an active Sutter Buttes 4-H member and loves to show her animals. She enjoys baking, reading, swimming, and playing with her pets. She would like to thank her parents and family for being supportive of her many hobbies. She hopes that you all enjoy the show!

Ella Rhody

Spot Conlon, u/s Race

Ella Rhody is 13 years old and an 8th grader at Twin Rivers Charter School. Performing is her jam! She has been a dancer since she was 3 and singing almost as long. Ella has been in several productions including Legally Blonde, The Little Mermaid, and Seussical, to name a few. She recently completed a week long intensive in Salt Lake City called Broadway Dreams! Ella is thrilled to be a part of Newsies and hopes you enjoy the show!

Toad

Nunzio, Roosevelt, Guard

Toad (they/them) is a 17 year old senior. This is their second ever and their first with Center Stage. They have been an actor in Godspell and worked behind the scenes with other shows. Newsies is a personal favorite musical for them and they are very happy to be a part of this rendition of it.

Katherine Benson

Pulitzer

Katherine “Katie” Benson, 14, is excited to entertain audiences as Joseph Pulitzer in Newsies. She began acting classes at age 7, quickly discovering her love of musicals. Katie is excited to portray of Pulitzer because of the character’s energy and depth. Katie is known for her professionalism and positive attitude. Outside of acting, she enjoys drawing, dance, and spending time with family. Katie is a rising star with a bright future in performing arts.

Ethan Fifield

Jack

Ethan Fifield is a 17 year old who’s essentially been acting since he could talk, has been drawing and painting since he could hold a pencil, has been taking vocal lessons since he was 8, and has been dancing since he was 4. He’s played prominent secondary characters before, like Judas in Godspell, Snow White in The Fairyest of Them All, and Pepper in Annie, along with several ensemble roles like an orphan in Oliver, but this is his first real lead. He’s been working for this chance throughout his entire life, and is very excited to display his skills as a singer, actor, dancer, and artist, drawing Jack’s sketches and painting Santa Fe himself.

Bennett Goettman

Les

Bennett Goettman is thrilled to have this show be his acting debut! He is proud to be a GATE student in the 6th grade at Franklin School. When he’s not rehearsing for Newsies he’s either spending time with friends and family or out in the community trying out various activities like jiu jitsu, chess and soccer. He also enjoys playing video games and some of his favorite hobbies include reading, writing, climbing everything, doing math and playing the piano. He has been fascinated by this first exciting role and has learned and grown a lot!

Emerson Handley

Oscar Delancy, Seitz, u/s Davey

Emerson Handley would like to thank you for coming to the show! Emerson is a homeschooled Freshman who enjoys reading, singing, hunting, swing dancing, and working hard outside. He’s spent his summer attending multiple church camps and swimming as often as he can. This will be his first Center Stage Productions performance, and he hopes you love it as much as he does!

DaisyLin Horner

Nun, Mr. Jacobi, Newsie

DaisyLin Horner has been in now two musicals, her first being James and the Giant Peach at the YCHS backlot theatre and Newsies at Center Stage Productions. In fifth grade she was supposed to be in a musical called Bots! but due to COVID it got shut down. Ever since she was seven, she has been interested in theatre, Newsies being one of the first musicals she had seen live. This is her first show with this company and she is very excited to be a part of this production!

Cameron Kersting

Davey, u/s Jack

Cameron Kersting is completely ecstatic to be performing in Newsies! Now starting his senior year at Yuba City High School, Cameron has been acting locally since he was eight, in shows such as Oliver! (Oliver, TAC), Into the Woods (Jack, YCHS), and Seussical (Cat, CSP). He also dances at Studio B and is a member of the Yuba City Youth Ballet, performing in their annual production of The Nutcracker. Cameron is so grateful for the opportunity to perform in Newsies alongside many talented peers. He hopes you enjoy the show!

Kiara Marino

Mush, Mike, Brooklyn Newsie

Kiara Marino is ecstatic to be in this awesome show. She is 10 years old and an incoming 5th grader at Butte Vista Elementary School. She was part of Center Stage Production of Seize The Day and Seussical, and also Rise Up’s The Lion King JR. She also does competitive dance with Transitions Dance Center. Kiara wants to be an actor when she grows up and loves to do musical theatre. She hopes you enjoy the show!

Mairi Osborne

Ike, Scab, Brooklyn Newsie, u/s Les

Mairi Osborne is a 5th grade student who enjoys science, history and reading. She loves all things theatrical, and this is her second production with Center Stage. She has a busy schedule, taking dance at two studios, voice lessons, as well as rehearsals, and she wouldn’t have it any other way. She is a huge Newsies fan and is so excited to have a part in this musical. Not only does she love acting with the cast, but she says the friendships she builds are the best part.

Chloe Valdez

Chloe Valdez is so excited to be in Newsies playing Romeo!! She loves spending time with the cast and getting to learn new things!! She’s 16 years old and attends Yuba City High School going into Junior year. She likes to play soccer at her high school when she’s not busy with theater. She’s in the musical theater department at school and has done several performances with them, most recently James and the Giant Peach, as well as The Laramie Project with Convergence Theater!! She hopes you love the show as much as she does!!

Paige Clements

Paige Clements is absolutely honored to be a part of another Center Stage Production! She previously played Mayzie La Bird in Seussical and was a part of the ensemble in Seize the Day, and she can't wait to watch CSP continue to flourish. When Paige is not performing or bombarding those around her (her words not ours), you can find her serving on the California Future Business Leaders of America State Officer Team, lifeguarding at her local pool, or trying to survive her senior year at Wheatland Union High School. She would like to thank her family for being her biggest fans, all of her friends for being the best audience members ever, and her directors, who are the reason she's been able to live out this dream role. Now, let's table the palaver and get back to business. Enjoy the show!

Naomi Freeman

Medda, Newsie, Swing

Naomi Freeman is a senior in high school and is very happy to make her community theater debut in Newsies as Medda Larkin! Mainly acting at her school, MCAA, you may have seen her as Antonia in Much Ado About Nothing, Blondo Malfoy in Puffs, Jetsam in Little Mermaid, and Dawn Schweitzer/Janis Understudy in Mean Girls. When not acting, Naomi is busy acing her classes, taking care of her sisters, and loving her cat, Riley. She hopes you enjoy the show!

Cora Goettman

Elmer, Brooklyn Newsie

Cora Goettman is excited and grateful to be a part of this year’s production of Newsies, especially after a fantastic experience as a Bird Girl in last year’s Seussical musical. Cora is an 8th grade student at Franklin Elementary School who loves to dance and act. At school, she enjoys playing sports such as basketball and track, as well as doing GATE and theater. This past year, she played Princess Fiona in her school’s production of Shrek. Outside of school, she enjoys singing in her church choir and playing the piano. She can’t wait for you to “watch what happens!”

Elizabeth Hansen

Elizabeth is excited to be performing in this show. She is a soon to be senior at YCHS, and enjoys her drama class. Elizabeth’s previous shows include James and the Giant Peach as Sponge and Seussical as the Grinch. In addition she enjoys reading, art, music, and singing.

Addison Kersting

Buttons, Brooklyn Newsie

Addison Kersting is overjoyed to be in this show!! She has been in many shows at The Acting Company and is part of her drama class at Twin Rivers Charter School. When Addison is not working on a show, she is dancing with the Yuba City Youth Ballet, or horseback riding. When she gets home, she enjoys baking and spending time with family and friends. The most recent performances you can find Addison in is The Studio B Recital (YCYB) and The Little Mermaid JR. (TRCS). Addison would like to thank her parents for always supporting her!! She hopes you'll love the show as much as she does!!

Kelsey Kiehn Watkins

Crutchie

Kelsey Kiehn Watkins is hyped to be playing Crutchie at Center Stage! This is her second show with the fantastic company and crew. Kels has also performed at her school, PFAA, in Wizard of Oz (Dorothy) and at WOH in The Lightning Thief (Ensemble). Her most recent show, The Laramie Project, was also at her school in Sacramento, where she is starting her sophomore year. Aside from musical theatre, Kels is also an avid vocal student and will lead one of her school's competitive vocal jazz ensembles this year. She wants to thank everyone who has helped her get here!

Mika Marino

Nun, Bowery Beauty, Newsie

Mika Marino is very excited to perform for you all! Mika is a recent high school graduate who will be attending college as a freshman very soon! She has played the role as a Blue Bird Girl in Center Stage's Seussical production last year. When she’s off stage, she enjoys photography, editing, and reading books. Even though this musical production will be her last in this company, she hopes you enjoy every bit of this show till the very end!

Rowan Elias Reid

Stage Manager, Newsie

Rowan Elias Reid is 12 years old and is in 7th grade at Twin Rivers Charter School. He is so excited to be in his third musical, Newsies! Rowan has been dancing competitively with Transitions Dance Company for 2 years. In his free time he loves community service, dance, and bike rides. He also loves theater and hopes to do many more plays in the Yuba Sutter area.
