Center Stage Productions was started in 2022 with the vision to give youth in the Yuba-Sutter area an opportunity to participate in full stage musicals within their local community. We saw a need for a high quality musical theatre program in our area, comparable to those that were popping up in communities like Chico, Roseville, & Sacramento. We wanted students from our community to have similar experiences to their peers in larger cities.

Our goal is to provide students with a safe, fun, & educational environment for them to explore musical theater and to expand their skills. Through workshops, students will learn theatre history and etiquette; as well as be given opportunities to build their portfolios, have headshots done, improve their audition skills, and write a resume. Taking part in our productions gives students a taste of the work and dedication it takes to bring a show to life on stage! From the audition process, to rehearsal, to tech week, and final production, we want to make sure that students leave with the love and work ethic that is needed to participate fully in musical theatre—no matter where they may go afterward!

In 2024 we added our High School Intern Program, to support our directing teams, as well as give high school students the chance to take on a leadership role for our young thespians. Summer Interns get the opportunity to participate from start to finish of our Junior Productions. Interns assist our Junior Team with auditions, choreography, set design, costuming, blocking, tech, and more! Students who participate in this program leave with a solid understanding of the work it takes to make the magic happen!

As we begin our fifth season, we are looking for sponsors to financially support and further our mission. This year, we are excited to be presenting Footloose & Aladdin JR for the community! With nearly 90 students participating this past year, our need for sponsors has grown immensely! Sponsors for this season will receive advertising in our program and on our website, and (depending on level of sponsorship) t-shirts & tickets to a performance of their choice.
 

Our goal for this season is $25,000, to help cover the cost of the shows and to further our mission of providing high quality musical theater opportunities to our community youth! It is a large and ambitious goal, but we believe that with support from our community, we will reach it!

Center Stage Productions is powered by Yuba Sutter Arts & Culture and all donations to Center Stage Productions are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law.
